– The Ethnic Food and Drink Fair is a great opportunity for establishing contacts between the manufacturers and consumers from various parts of Serbia and, in addition to the market expansion and sales improvement, this event objective is the manufacturers education, as well, said Mr. Ljubiša Dimitrijević, State Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Trade, Forestry and Water Management at the opening of the sixth show of local specialties.
Pointing out this event importance, Mr. Dimitrijević said it was very important that Serbian manufacturers became competitive at the worldwide markets and accomplishing such reputation requires hard work. He also announced the Ministry of Agriculture, under cooperation with the Institute for Manufacturing Banknotes and Coins, would work on establishing the system of marking food products with the geographic origin. Each such product would be marked by the evidence stamp, which would be the guarantee of the best quality goods. This year’s event gathers more than 250 exhibitors from the whole Serbia, who will promote their products at Belgrade Fair till Tuesday, November 29. The event patron is the Ministry of Agriculture, Trade, Forestry and Water Management of the Republic of Serbia, the co-organizer is the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Belgrade Fair is the organizer. After the event festive opening ceremony, the Fair was visited also by His Excellency the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Serbia, Mr. Alexander Konuzin and His Excellency the Ambassador of Japan to Serbia, Mr. Toshio Tsunozaki. |
